Drift Hunters

Racing1 playerby Ilya Kaminetsky

Drift Hunters is the closest thing to a real driving game you can run in a browser tab. You start with one car, earn points by holding drifts, and spend the points on cars you have actually heard of.

Drift Hunters tips and strategy

  1. Learn the handbrake before anything else. Turning the wheel alone will not start a drift in this game.
  2. Counter-steer as the car slides. Press the opposite direction to the drift to keep the angle without spinning.
  3. Chain small drifts rather than attempting one giant one β€” the multiplier rewards continuity, not size.
  4. Upgrade tyres and suspension before engine power. More power in a stock car just means more crashes.
  5. If the frame rate drops, reduce quality in the settings. Drifting on a stuttering frame rate is close to unplayable.

About Drift Hunters

The game gives you an open track and a rear-wheel-drive car. Points come from sustained drifts β€” the longer you hold the slide without spinning out or hitting a barrier, the bigger the multiplier. Crash and you lose the chain.

Earned points go into a garage of licensed-looking sports cars and tuning parts. Engine swaps, suspension, tyres and camber all change how the car behaves, which means the game has a genuine learning curve in car setup rather than just a score.

It is a 3D game running in WebGL, which is why it feels much heavier than the other titles on this page. It also means the mobile version exists but is noticeably harder to control than the desktop one.

Drift Hunters: frequently asked questions

Is Drift Hunters free?

Yes. Drift Hunters is free to play in your browser, including all the cars and tuning parts β€” you earn them with in-game points rather than paying.

Does Drift Hunters work on mobile?

There is a mobile version and it runs, but the game is designed around a keyboard. Desktop players generally have a much easier time controlling the car.

What are the Drift Hunters controls?

Arrow keys or WASD to drive, space for the handbrake and C to change camera.

How do I earn points in Drift Hunters?

Hold sustained drifts without crashing. The longer a single drift lasts and the more you chain together, the higher your multiplier climbs.
